Growing up in the 80's and 90's, Lauren Pack can attribute much of her world-view to three very important figures in her life - Mr. Rogers, Big Bird, and Tenderheart Bear. One of the most important beliefs that these icons of empathy instilled in her is the idea that everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and loved - just as they are. Both in her professional life as a therapist, and in her personal life, Lauren does all she can to make sure that she follows this guiding principle.
Between 2010 and 2015, Lauren earned her Bachelor’s and then Master's degrees in Social Work from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. From 2015-2021, she had the privilege of working as a stay-at-home mom to her three daughters. During this priceless time with her children, Lauren gained first-hand insight into childhood development, family dynamics, and the joys—and chaos—of parenting.
Lauren has spent the last five years working in the community health and school-based settings, supporting children, adolescents, and their families. Lauren specializes in working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, who are on the spectrum, or who are experiencing symptoms related to ADHD, anxiety, or depression.
Lauren works to create a space where kids can explore their feelings, confront challenges, and discover their strengths. She has an eclectic approach to therapy - often engaging clients through play, music, art, and movement. She often utilizes elements of one of the many therapy model acronyms she is trained in (EMDR, DBT, TF-CBT), but the foundation of her entire practice is the development of a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients and their families.
Lauren lives in Maryville with her three awesome daughters and her three orange tabby cat sons. Outside the office, she can be found either hanging out with her kids, listening to a podcast, or rewatching Star Trek TNG or one of the movies in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
